A while back I was asked the question whether SOLIDWORKS Plastics had the ability to show different plots with respect to time rather than just look at everything at the end of fill. Within the SOLIDWORKS Plastics results you mainly just see static plots of things like Pressure at the End of Fill, Temperature at the Fill, etc. The only plot that allows you to look at it with respect to time is the the Fill Time plot. Most of the time these plots are sufficient, but what about if you want to look at other data like temperature and pressure as the cavity fills? I did some searching and stumbled upon an area that I had overlooked many times. Within the XY Plots, at the bottom of the dialog, there is an area called Color Shading. If you check that on you can now look at either temperature or pressure with respect to the filling time. You have the same controls as you do with the Fill Time plot.
You can animate these plots, or step through them frame by frame to get an idea of how the temperature and pressure change through the filling process. In order to switch between temperature and pressure, you just select what parameter you want to look at in the chart area. One caveat to these is they are only available when using a solid mesh.
