Quick tip for today: changing icons from part thumbnail images to standard icons.
While having thumbnails of parts and assemblies show in your Windows folder can be nice for some, others prefer standard icons. Why? Primarily, speed: the thumbnails can actually slow the display of folder contents a bit. Also, if you normally work in list-type views with your Windows folders, those tiny thumbnails aren’t doing you much good anyways.
If you’d like to turn off thumbnail display in Windows folders, go to Tools, Options, System Options. Find the checkbox for “Show Thumbnail Graphics in Windows Explorer” and clear it. From now on, you’ll see standard part and assembly icons in your folders instead of thumbnail pictures.
