3DVia Composer V6R2012 has been released, and there are some great new enhancements. I'm going to highlight them over the coming weeks, but if you haven't heard about the new release and you are on Subscription, I encourage you to download and install it. You can do so right beside your current release if you like.
To whet your appetite, here is an image I did from the new 3DVia Composer I just installed today. Click on the image to bring up a seperate window, and resize the window to show the larger image for closer study. Note the details such as the customized ambient occlusion, the slight glow effect on some of the shiny surfaces, the depth of field effect, and the shadows cast from some of the parts onto others. 3DVia Composer V6R2012 is more than enhanced rendering effects, though -- there's some nice stuff in there for user navigation, web publishing and animations too, which we'll also talk about in future articles. You can get a good overview ahead of installing the software from the 3DVia Composer V6R2012 Fact Sheet

Nice post!
FYI, it's "3DVIA" all in uppercase. :-)
